Aryl Crown Ethers Based on <scp>d</scp>‐Glucose Scaffold – Highly Selective Receptors of Amino Acid Ester Hydrochlorides

Amino acids are important biomolecules with a broad scope of applications in chemical and biological sciences. Their functions properties depend on their absolute configuration. Therefore, methods for chiral recognition separation amino highly sought after. For the purposes diagnostic medicinal water is particularly relevant. However synthetic receptors enantioselective binding aqueous media rare. Recently we reported d-glucose-based crown ether acid esters water. We achieved enantioselectivities towards hydrophobic sidechains which were among highest ever small molecule receptor. The affinities however moderate. Herein disclose analogs that receptor, containing aryl functionalities fragment. new show considerably improved ester hydrochlorides water, while retaining high enantio- or chemoselectivities.
